Mixed media installation. 2006.
Flux was in the exhibition Heavenly Bodies: Astronomical and Anatomical at Burghley Sculpture Garden, Burghley House, Stamford, Lincolnshire, May to October 2006.
Flux challenges our perception of reality by creating the illusion of mass disappearing. Autonomous cylindrical columns have been perforated with thousands of tiny holes to dissolve the solidity of its mass into a shimmering impression of movement and instability. Their surfaces twinkle like the night sky as the observer moves around them.
